Campus update
Campus Update is a fortnightly all-staff email keeping you up to date with news from around the University. Here, you'll find important messages for staff, as well as some highlights from our community and events.
Pay award 2018/19
The University has published an update on annual pay negotiations for UCU-represented staff groups and staff groups represented by UNISON and Unite.
USS pensions  consultation
Further to its communication with scheme members in July, the USS pension scheme opened a 60-day consultation on Monday 3 September.
New Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellors to support delivery of world-class research
Professor Dame Jessica Corner, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, has unveiled a reshaped team of Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellors to support the University's vision of delivering exceptional research that transforms lives. Reporting directly to Dame Jessica, the Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellors will provide additional leadership in driving the University's Research Vision.
Brexit and research funding: an update
There are rich opportunities to secure funding and new partnerships in Europe for our world-leading discoveries and the University's researchers are being urged to pursue these collaborations — now and beyond Brexit.

The outputs module of the Research Information System (RIS) is now operational.
Pioneering health science lecturers win national teaching awards
Inspirational teachers at the University of Nottingham have been recognised by a prestigious national scheme  the UK Teaching Excellence Awards. The awards recognise excellent practice and outstanding achievement.
New University design framework
We compete for the best students and staff across the globe. It is therefore vital to express our collective strengths through a clear and consistent brand identity. Following an open tender process, a variety of suppliers have been appointed to a new University design framework that commenced Monday 3 September 2018.
Changes to the Academic Misconduct Policy
Following recent changes to the Academic misconduct policy, schools and departments should ensure that the changes are reflected in course/module handbooks and materials used in academic misconduct training. A series of information sessions will take place, and Academic Misconduct Officers will also be required to attend further training.
Office 365 training sessions
Want to get to grips with all that Office 365 has to offer? We're running a series of campus roadshows. The hour-long sessions will give you the basics to get started with three key Office 365 applications: OneDrive, Teams and OneNote.
Moodle upgrade  update and roadshow sessions
On Monday 3 September we completed the Moodle upgrade to version 3.4. The upgrade brought various improvements to the look and feel of Moodle, as well as some new features. Following the upgrade there will be a number of half hour awareness sessions taking place for staff.
Spotlight on... our international campuses
Celebrations have taken place to mark the 18th anniversary of the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNMC). Originally established with just 100 students and three courses, UNMC now boasts more than 17 schools and around 5,000 students. Read more on the UNMC news page.
Meanwhile in highlights from our University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) campus, an alumnus has been recognised as one of Africa’s most promising young business people by being named in the prestigious Forbes Africa 30-under-30 list. Read more on the UNNC news page.
Event of the week — Spotlight on... Workforce planning
This free session will provide an overview and practical guidance on workforce planning. The event is aimed at School Heads and Deputy Heads, Heads of Departments and Divisions, Operations Managers and anyone else who is involved with, or has an interest in, workforce planning. It will take place 12pm-2pm, Wednesday 29 September, University Park.

The annual Times Higher Education award shortlist will be published tomorrow (Thursday 6 September). A little bird tells us that the University may feature — visit Campus News tomorrow to find out more. These prestigious awards, often known as the 'Oscars of Higher Education', celebrate excellence in research, student support and international practice across the sector.
