Campus Update is a fortnightly all-staff email keeping you up to date with news from around the University. Here, you'll find important messages for staff, as well as some highlights from our community and events.
The Vice-Chancellor's blog  A vision for wellbeing
The Vice-Chancellor discusses how we can work together to improve wellbeing among our staff and student community.
Week of Wellbeing and new Employee Hub launched
This week is the first University of Nottingham Week of Wellbeing, with more than 150 activities and events aimed at supporting staff wellbeing. Also this week, we've launched a new Employee Assistance Programme accessed through the new Employee Hub.
UNNC leadership changes
The Vice-Chancellor has agreed that University of Nottingham Ningbo Campus (UNNC) Provost Professor Chris Rudd will step back from his day-to-day role on 31 January 2019 as he has signalled his intention to seek new opportunities beyond the University. Professor Rudd has secured many achievements for our Ningbo campus and will be missed by his many friends and colleagues at the University and in the city of Ningbo.

Next University strategy  submit your views online
A new strategy webpage enables staff to contribute their thoughts on the University's next strategy online, in addition to the all-staff workshops that continue across November.

Fees, funding and finances  the University perspective
As she commences a new series of staff briefing sessions, Margaret Monckton, Chief Financial Officer at the University, has written a new blog post exploring our University finances and the financial landscape.

EU settlement scheme: next pilot stage commences
The next pilot stage of the Home Office's EU settlement scheme will launch in the Higher Education sector on Thursday 15 November and will cover employees in the higher education and social care sectors. The pilot will test the application process that EU citizens and their family members will use when the scheme fully opens next year. Participants' feedback will be used to make improvements to the process before the scheme fully launches to the public.
Disability December 2018
During December 2018 the University of Nottingham will celebrate Disability December  with a range of events for staff and students including workshops, panel discussions, music performances and more. Full details of the programme will be available soon. Events that staff can already book onto are detailed on Campus News.
Can you help out at Graduation?
The Graduation Team is looking for colleagues to help steward our Winter Graduation ceremonies. The nine ceremonies, taking place from Tuesday 11 December to Friday 14 December, provide a great opportunity to see students celebrate the culmination of their studies.
Preparing our students for the digital workplace
'Digital capabilities' has been identified as one of the most important career skills for graduates. The University has procured the Jisc Digital Discovery Tool, which enables staff and students to self-assess their digital capabilities and access resources to further develop their skills.
What would you do with a £5-15k research grant?
UNICAS sandpit events are now open to academic, research, and technical staff, as well as PhD students in their second year and beyond , and Early Career Researchers. Attend a UNICAS event, explain your big idea, and you could get a research grant to help bring your idea to life.
Spotlight on... our international campuses
A new Ingenuity Lab has opened at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). The innovation centre will support students and alumni who wish to explore entrepreneurial ideas and establish their own businesses. The centre was opened by His Royal Highness the Duke of York, KG, on Friday 2 November. Read more on the UNNC news site.
At the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNMC) a leading chemical engineer has been named among the 2018 Top Research Scientists Malaysia (TRSM). The prestigious award was presented by the Prime Minister of Malaysia at a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on 1 November. Read the full story on the UNMC news site.
Event of the week Cripps Health Centre tour
As part of our Week of Wellbeing for staff, tours are taking place of the new Cripps Health Centre (CHC) on University Park. The hour-long tours will take place at 10am, 12pm and 2pm on Thursday 15 November, presented by Daniel Hammersley, CHC Manager. There's no need to book in advance - simply turn up before the tour starts. You can view the full Week of Wellbeing programme online.

And finally...
More speakers have been added to 'Making the Headlines'  a training conference put together by our award-winning press office to demonstrate how you can use the media to support your research. You can sign up for the whole day, or just the sessions you are most interested in. The conference takes place on  Thursday 22 November at Lakeside Arts.
