Campus update
Campus Update is a fortnightly all-staff email keeping you up to date with news from around the University. Here, you'll find important messages for staff, as well as some highlights from our community and events.
University strategy: staff feedback published
Feedback from more than 300 staff who attended November's '21st Century University' staff workshops has been published verbatim by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Andy Long as part of a new blog setting out the next steps for the development of the Strategy.
Brexit updates
The UK government has announced that EU citizens wishing to apply for settled status in the UK under the EU Settlement Scheme will no longer be required to pay a fee when the scheme is rolled out in full on 30 March 2019. 
Meanwhile, the University's Global & Political Affairs Unit has prepared a new briefing note for staff following the Parliamentary vote on Tuesday 15 January 2019.
Staff teaching timetables
Staff who use MyCal to view their teaching timetables on online calendars will need to re-subscribe to the service due to a timetabling data issue. Details on how to do this can be found on Campus News.
Celebrating our staff and students
Staff and students are invited to nominate themselves or colleagues for three new projects celebrating the diversity of our staff and their unique contribution to our University.
The VC's Medal: submit your nomination
The latest call for nominations is now open for the Vice-Chancellor's Medal, which awards staff and students' exceptional achievements. The deadline for nominations is Friday 15 March 2019.

LGBT History Month 2019
Our programme of events for this year's LGBT History Month is now available online. The theme this year is 'Peace, Reconciliation, Activism', and there are a number of events taking place around the University throughout February.
Nottingham Calibre Programme
The Nottingham Calibre Programme — a three day personal development and leadership programme for disabled staff — will take place during March 2019. Tailored to reflect the challenges and experiences of disabled staff, this programme can be attended by staff whether or not they have declared a disability.
Spotlight on... our international campuses
The University of Nottingham Malaysia has appointed Noorulhadi Mohamed as its new Director of Financial and Business Services. Read more.
The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) has launched the UNNC Institute for Teaching Excellence  the aim of which is to train teachers, education professionals and school managers as well as offer consultations and curriculum development resources. Read more.
Researchfish 2019: get ready to report on the outcomes and impact of your funding
Researchfish  the online platform that allows researchers to report to funders on the outcomes, outputs and impact of their discoveries  is an essential tool supporting the University's growing focus on demonstrating the impact of our research. The 2019 Researchfish submissions window opens on Monday 4 February and closes on Thursday 14 March.
Racial Harassment Inquiry  take part
An inquiry into the types of racial harassment experienced at universities and other publicly-funded higher education institutions has been launched by the Equality and Human Rights Commission. The inquiry wants to hear from staff and students who have experienced, witnessed or helped in an incident of racial harassment from September 2015 onwards.
Event of the week The Killing of Sister George (film screening)
For its time, The Killing of Sister George was a ground breaking film, and one of the first films in history to be released with an 'X' rating in the United States. Set in 1968, it has historic meaning and is a landmark in queer cinema. Presented as part of LGBT History Month.
And finally...
Leading universities, including the University of Nottingham, and adult education charities have joined forces to create a new commission to tackle the challenges faced in educating people throughout their lives in England.
